Eve is hoping that Frankie could return on a different channel. So do we.
Most you know that the BBC cancelled the show not long after it finished airing which angered many fans. Could some other network pick it up for a second series?
What’s on TV – The 35-year-old actress, who played district nurse Frankie Maddox, tells TV Times that the cast and crew are keen to make a second series.
“As far as I know it’s completely finished at the BBC,” says Eve, who’s currently starring as Lauren in age-gap sitcom You, Me and Them on GOLD.
“Whether it goes to a different channel… I don’t know. But we have a cast, a crew and a writer who’d like to do more and an audience who’d like to see more.”
Eve was overwhelmed by the furore after Frankie ended after just one series.
“I get asked about Frankie 30 or 40 times a day,” she says. “And when I tell people that the BBC decided not to bring it back, it’s like I’ve kidnapped their child.”
It would be great to see it come back. I found the writing to be really good and the acting was top-notch from the entire cast. I also think this was one of Eve’s best roles to date and would love to see her do more serious drama shows that many of us can relate to. The BBC really should reconsider their decision to cancel it.
If you haven’t signed the Bring Back Frankie petition then do not hesitate.
