The 19th annual 2010 BAFTA Cymru award nominations were announced last week and Eve is up again this year for Best Actress! This marks the sixth year Eve Myles has gotten a nomination and it’s really quite an achievement and well deserved.
This year, Eve received the nomination for her role as Gwen Cooper Williams in “Torchwood” Children of Earth: Day One. The other nominees for Best Actress include Mali Harries and Eiry Thomas (Eiry played ‘Carol’ in the Torchwood episode “Greeks Bearing Gifts”).
Torchwood received a whopping 7 nominations. Aside from the Best Actress nomination, Torchwood is up for Best Drama Series; Best Screenwriter (RTD); Best Original Music Soundtrack; Best Sound; Best Editor; and Best Costume. That’s pretty amazing, although I’m not too surprised.
Interestingly, “A Bit of Tom Jones?” is up for Best Film, which probably has a few people shaking their heads (or fists). For those that missed it at the cinemas and love comedy, the DVD of the film goes on sale today at HMV and everywhere else in May (I’ll own a copy soon enough). It was rumored that Eve was getting a Best Actress nomination for her role as the ‘Girlfriend,’ but it’s obvious now that isn’t happening.
You can get the full list of award nominees here in PDF format.
The 2010 BAFTA Cymru awards will take place at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay on Sunday 23rd May 2010. More information on the event can be found here.
We wish Eve the best of luck!

GOOD LUCK EVE!! x
