I don't know if a US version will work, even though I am so hoping. In American TV, there is not as much liberty so the love triangles and developements of the characters will not be as intense. And seriously, without John Barrowman, Gareth David-Lloyd and especially Eve Myles I just don't think it will have the appeal. In one week I have fallen completely in love with these characters. Lets not forget the "incredibly successful" Red Dwarf remake lol. Major network sci-fi tends to do poorly overall and, outside the sci fi channel, Star Trek, and X-files, shows involving anything with aliens tend to not last very long (the american public prefer cute young actresses fighting against vampires and demons) The US trackrecord for Sci-Fi remakes leaves a lot to be desired. I mean, aren't they supposed to deal with the alien threat globally? Also why would an organisation founded by queen Victoria as a defense against the Doctor, a defense to protect Britain, have a branch in the US? To me, it sounds beyond odd, but I'm still a newbie to this universe so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. More eyeballs = more ad revenue = more $$$. It's good for everyone involved and let's hope the show will stay close to its roots. I'm hoping Eve hops on board because the exposure would be enormous.
