I dread to think what the Fox people would do to Torchwood! US remakes of British series have been without exception shallow, glossy, eviscerated travesties of the originals. They are so in thrall to sponsors and advertisers, not to mention the dead hand of positively 19th-century censorship, that they produce lacklustre, unchallenging brain-candy. That's the joy of the beeb - no adverts means no-one to pander to, which is why only the beeb could make a programme like Torchwood. This is not a show for kids and it should stay that way.
